For wire cut EDM machining, a programmed contour is cut into workpiece through molybdenum wire with the help of control software. It is often a cost alternative for workpiece with complex contours. For parts with complex contours that milling machine is difficult to clamp, then Wire Cut EDM is a effective and low-cost solution.

Wire cut EDM can machining any conductive materials, include hardened, high-strength or tough metal materials, and conductive ceramics, so it was widely used in tool manufacturing, mould construction and piece-part production.
